Purpose:
The Shelter Supervisor provides direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. Shelter Supervisor actively engages with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. This role play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social-emotional wellbeing. This role supervises all of the Resident Assistants, is a member of the treatment team and is a part of the rotating on call team.
Job Responsibilities:
- 1st Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. with flexibility to meet operational need.
- Provide supervision, support, and behavior management as needed to youth.
- Oversee the safety of residents and the facility.
- Answer all hotline calls and provide crisis counseling as necessary.
- Complete required shift documentation.
- Prepare meals for youth.
- Engage in programming with youth.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility.
- Collaborate with Treatment Team regarding youth progress toward goals.
- Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary.
- Provide coverage as necessary.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Two years’ experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred.
- Must have a minimum of an Associates Degree.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years.
- Residential experience a plus.

This is an Exempt position with a salary range of $35,000 - $40,000.
